Wouldn’t it be great if we could live our lives in total happiness and joy, as if everything would be a miracle? Isn’t that a life worth living?
Sadly, so many people focus only on what’s missing from their everyday life, how “impossible” would be to have what they want, or how frightening the thought of taking a big leap sounds. Most of them will indulge themselves in the daily routine that they’re so used to, that safety net that offers a temporary, though false sense of security….but in the same time that doesn’t allow them to grow and explore their true potential, nor to be truly happy.
We want things to be different, but in the same time we’re not willing to do anything to change them. Why is that? Most likely because of lack of self-confidence, self-love, or self-trust; fear of failure, rejection, or judgment; unawareness of our potential, and so on. So what do we do instead? The easiest thing possible: we complain and do nothing. Or even worse, we blame others for the course of our life – in other words, we avoid taking responsibility for our own actions.
But how do complaining, criticizing, and blaming solve our problems? That’s right, they don’t. Our negative thoughts and focus on what we perceive as being wrong or missing will only attract more of that into our lives – because what we focus on expands. If only we’d open our eyes and see that it’s not a matter of capability to change our lives; it’s always a matter of willingness! And it all starts with BEING GRATEFUL FOR WHAT WE ALREADY HAVE!
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them. ~ John F. Kennedy
When we give thanks for everything in our lives, exactly for the way they are, regardless of our preference for them to be different, our lives become lit up with joy. And in that state, we become an absolute magnet for the blessings of life. When we expect someone else to come and rescue us, or solve our problems for us we’re only misleading ourselves and will end up getting disappointed. Here’s the fact: The only person responsible for your life is YOU. Love and happiness come from within – in others words, if it doesn’t come through you, it won’t come to you.
You may ask: But how do love and gratitude relate to my success in life? Precisely! They are the keys to happiness and abundance. Whatever we give our attention to is what we create more of. Our constant attention to our deficiencies does not create abundance – it actually creates more deficiencies. Gratitude shifts our perception from what we don’t have to what we do have. In shifting our focus this way, we increase our sense of abundance and appreciation. In turn, this attracts more abundance to be appreciative of.
So the real question is: How willing are you to create the life that you want for yourself? How ready are you to take responsibility for your own actions?
I’d like to invite you to listen to Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s advice, hoping that it’ll resonate with you or at least make you see things from a different perspective.
As life is constantly redefining itself according to our consciousness, gratitude is the only way to attract all that’s good and wonderful into our lives. It begins with simple and profound gestures – giving thanks for exactly the way things are and exactly the way they’re not in your life right now.
The measure of mental health is the disposition to find good everywhere. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Only from this point, of acceptance and surrender we’ll be able to make real life changes – because they will come from a place of love and gratitude, and not from one of scarcity and fear.
You could start by writing down all the things that you are grateful for in your life TODAY, without restraining yourself in any way. You may try shifting from thinking big to thinking small or the other way around, it doesn’t really matter – just don’t take anything for granted!
Aim to write as much as you can and develop a habit of doing that every single day….and watch your life changing right in front of your eyes. That’s because the real transformation starts from within, by shifting your perspective and your thoughts from destructive to creative, from fear to love, from scarcity to abundance – and as a result, your life will never look the same again. The key is to bring more awareness into your daily actions and let gratitude be your inner state in every situation.
Acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance. ~ Eckhart Tolle
